just discovered these insane luxurious castle hotels around europe and honestly they're hitting different. like imagine staying in a 19th-century neo-gothic castle in france with michelin star dining, or this 11th-century german castle where martin luther literally translated the bible. wild right?
so there's ashford castle in ireland sitting on lough corrib for over 800 years - used to be the guinness family home. now it's got 83 rooms, a spa that won best hotel spa in ireland, and like 350 acres to explore. you can do horseback riding, boat tours, the whole vibe. then there's hôtel de la cité in carcassonne with those picturesque turrets and a michelin star restaurant.
if you want to stay stateside, the kentucky castle is only 20 mins from lexington and has this farm-to-table restaurant using their own garden produce. also they offer goat yoga which is kinda hilarious. scotland's got culzean castle where eisenhower used to vacation - 600 acres with clay pigeon shooting and fishing.
the portugal one (pousada castelo obidos) is crazy old - took like 600+ years to build starting from 718. you're literally sleeping in stone walls that are centuries old. sweden's häringe castle has an olympic pool and they do murder mystery dinner experiences lol.
any of these luxury castle retreats worth the splurge for you? thinking about finally doing one of these bucket list trips
