Been looking into high paying careers for women lately, and there's actually some interesting data out there. So yeah, the wage gap is real - women typically earn about 83% of what men make - but there are definitely fields where women outnumber men and can command solid six-figure salaries.
The healthcare sector seems to be where it's at. Nurse anesthetists are making over $171k median, which is pretty wild. Pharmacists pull in around $121k, and physician assistants are hitting $105k+. Physical therapists and occupational therapists are also solid options if you want something in that $72-77k range. Even with the pay gap that still exists in some of these roles, women in these fields are earning way above the national average.
There are other high paying careers for women beyond healthcare too. Management positions - HR managers, marketing managers, training and development roles - tend to pay $74-80k and have strong female representation. Natural sciences managers and psychologists are also interesting if you've got the education for them.
The pattern I'm noticing is that most of these require advanced degrees, which makes sense. But if you're willing to invest in education, these high paying careers for women actually offer pretty good earning potential. The gender wage gap is still there in most roles, but at least in these fields women have the numbers and the earning power to negotiate better. Worth considering if you're planning your career path.
