Lebanese President Welcomes US-Iran Ceasefire, Reiterates Lebanon's Continued Efforts to Ensure Regional Peace
On the 8th, local time, the Lebanese Presidential Palace issued a statement. President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon welcomed the agreement between the United States and Iran to a ceasefire, and emphasized that Lebanon will continue to work to ensure its integration into the regional peace process in a stable and lasting manner. Aoun reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to regional peace, stressing that any agreement must include Lebanon and uphold the principles long recognized by Lebanese citizens: Lebanon has full sovereignty over all of its territory, and any form of occupation should be terminated.
