An El Paso woman has filed a lawsuit against Uber Technologies, Inc. and one of its drivers, alleging false imprisonment, assault, and gross negligence. The suit claims that during a trip in July 2025, the Uber driver refused to allow the mother and her two young children to exit the vehicle, drove recklessly, and physically assaulted them at a gas station. The family is seeking over $1 million in damages, citing physical injury, emotional trauma, and ongoing anxiety, and also aims to see improvements in Uber’s safety protocols.
