Just realized most of us are probably sleeping on free credit monitoring. Like, these credit card companies literally give you identity theft protection tools at zero cost, even if you don't have their cards.

American Express has My Credit Guide - you get your credit score and TransUnion report for free, plus alerts if anything changes. Capital One's CreditWise is similar but honestly kind of wild because it checks the dark web to see if your Social Security number's floating around out there. Chase offers Credit Journey with the same score tracking but adds alerts for data breaches and identity verification attempts. Discover has a credit scorecard too, though they limited it to cardholders only now.

The crazy part? They all basically do the same thing - monitor your credit, send alerts when stuff changes, and help you catch fraud before it gets bad. Most pull from the same credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian). So if you're paranoid about identity theft like me, you could literally sign up for multiple ones and get layered protection for nothing.

I'm probably gonna grab a couple of these. The dark web monitoring feature alone seems worth it given how much identity theft has blown up. Have you guys used any of these credit cards that offer identity theft protection? Which one's worth it?
