The President of Brazil accuses the United States of fabricating lies to wage war against Iran.
Brazilian President Lula on the 1st said that the United States fabricated the “lie” that Iran possesses or is attempting to develop nuclear weapons, and launched an unnecessary war against it. “The United States launched an unnecessary war, claiming that Iran has or is developing nuclear weapons. That is a lie,” Lula said in an interview in Ceará, northeastern Brazil, even if there are disagreements between Israel and Iran, or the US and Iran, war is not necessary. Declaring war on Iran by the US and Israel will not solve any problems. Lula also accused the US of repeatedly fabricating lies to justify wars during the interview. He said the US declared war on Iraq based on the claim that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, but to this day, those weapons have not been found. This was entirely a fabricated excuse to start the war, and war has never solved any problems. Lula said that this war led to a rise in global energy prices. Brazil relies on imports for 30% of its diesel, and after the Strait of Hormuz was blocked, Brazil faced pressure to increase diesel prices. The Brazilian government has taken measures to reduce the impact of the Iran situation on Brazil’s economy, including lowering fuel taxes and increasing market regulation to prevent companies from raising prices opportunistically.
