Recently, I've been looking at the LST+ re-staking setup again. To be honest, the returns don't just disappear out of nowhere: part of it is the native staking rewards, and another part is more like service fees/incentives earned by "renting out security." The more layers stacked, the more attractive it looks, but essentially it's just adding more lines. The more lines, the higher the risk: contract bugs, malicious nodes, trouble when the penalty and confiscation rules change, not to mention the recent thefts of cross-chain bridges. Once assets cross the bridge, it’s a nervous moment. There are also occasional glitches with oracles providing quotes, and I really resonate with the collective "waiting for confirmation" phase. Even impatient people have to endure it... Now I’ve gotten used to taking screenshots before each operation; if something really goes wrong, at least I won’t be left empty-handed. Anyway, the returns are visible, and so are the risks. Just choose the level you can sleep peacefully with.
