Today I got "played on the chain" again: I was clearly watching a large transfer, but others had already shouted "Inflow!" in the group chat, and I was still showing the previous block... It wasn't until later that I realized it wasn't my bad eyesight; it's that the node/RPC/indexing system is inherently queued, prone to glitches, and even the same transaction can appear to happen at different times in different places.

The recent wave of cross-chain bridge hacks, everyone frantically screenshotting on-chain evidence, many of those are actually "late arrivals of the truth"; and after the oracle price anomalies, the phrase "waiting for confirmation" essentially means waiting for data sources from various providers to align, pausing the emotions for a moment.

I also find it quite funny—before, I followed a few "instant understanding of on-chain" accounts, and every time they were faster than me, I silently unfollowed... Now that I think about it, being fast doesn't necessarily mean truly fast; it might just be that the route they take is smoother. Anyway, I’ll continue to be an observer, slow as I am, at least not getting caught up in the delayed rhythm.
