In April 2026, the Solana official X account sparked a viral frenzy by posting a single word: “XRP.” Accompanied by a four-second cinematic animation of the Solana logo, the post lacked any context, leading to millions of views and intense speculation across the crypto community.
The XRP "Army" immediately interpreted the post as a "flip the switch" moment a long-standing meme representing a sudden transition to mainstream adoption. Solana’s social media team leaned into the chaos, trolling users with references to “589 NDAs,” another iconic XRP insider joke. Hex Trust recently announced plans to launch Wrapped XRP (wXRP) on Solana via the LayerZero standard to unlock DeFi utility. Despite the social media explosion, market reaction remained muted; XRP and SOL saw negligible gains of 2.4% and 0.9%, respectively.
