Been looking at some solid fintech plays lately, and I think there are two worth considering right now that have caught my attention for different reasons.

First up is Robinhood. The numbers are pretty compelling here. They've hit 27 million funded customers, and what's interesting is they're not just growing headcount—they're actually making more money per user. Revenue per user jumped 16% year over year, which tells you they're deepening engagement, not just adding names to a database. Overall revenue climbed 27% year over year.

Now, crypto revenue took a hit last year (down 38% due to Bitcoin's downturn), but here's the thing—it quadrupled in Q3 alone. That's the kind of volatility you expect in that segment, but it shows the upside potential when Bitcoin starts moving again. Speaking of which, BTC is sitting around 74.5K right now. Prediction markets are another story entirely. They did 8.5 billion event contract trades in Q4, and January showed 3.4 billion contracts traded. That's still accelerating, which could be huge for their long-term trajectory.

The stock's been beaten down over 30% year to date despite doubling over the past five years. Feels like a decent entry point if you're thinking long term.

Then there's Nu Holdings. This one's the largest online bank in Latin America, which means zero physical branch overhead—better margins, cheaper operations, more competitive pricing. They're in 60% of Brazil's adult population now and expanding into Mexico and Colombia. That market is moving fast.

The growth metrics are wild. Q3 2025 saw 39% year-over-year revenue growth. They added 4 million new customers and now sit at over 127 million total. Most of these aren't dormant accounts either—83% activity rate means people are actually using the platform for credit, loans, and savings.

Credit and loan balances grew 45% year over year, interest-earning portfolios jumped 58%, and net income surged 41% from 2024. They're hitting a 41% net profit margin, which is exceptional for a bank. That combination of growth and expanding profitability in a high-potential region is exactly what you want to see.

Both of these are the best stock opportunities in their respective spaces right now if you're looking for growth with actual improving fundamentals. Neither is a household name like the mega-cap tech stocks, but that's often where the real opportunities hide.
