On Wednesday (the 15th), local time, U.S. President Trump said that he believes the war with Iran is “near ending,” and he hinted that negotiations with Iran will resume this week.

That day, in an interview, Trump laid out a possible timetable for reaching an agreement with Iran. According to CCTV News, he said the U.S. is “very likely” to reach an agreement with Iran before King Charles III visits the U.S. in late April.

In the interview, Trump said the likelihood of reaching an agreement now is “very high.” According to the schedule, Charles III and Queen Camilla will visit the U.S. from April 27 to 30.

When asked whether an agreement could be reached before Charles III visits the White House on April 27, Trump said: “They (Iran) have been beaten badly. This is very likely.” He also claimed that after the negotiations between the U.S. and Iran held in Pakistan over the weekend failed, Iran is “very eager to reach an agreement.”

Meanwhile, Trump also defended the intention to launch this war, saying, “If I didn’t do it, Iran would have nuclear weapons. If they have nuclear weapons, you would have to call everyone there ‘sir,’ and you don’t want to do that.”

Meanwhile, reports say that U.S. and Iranian negotiators made progress in the latest round of talks, and they are gradually getting closer to reaching a framework agreement to end the conflict. It is understood that, with mediation from countries such as Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey, both sides are trying to bridge differences and reach an agreement before the ceasefire agreement expires.

Trump’s negotiation team is continuing to push the talks forward through phone calls and the exchange of draft agreements. U.S. officials said a new round of face-to-face talks may be held in the coming days, but the specific timing has not yet been determined.
