Netherlands Procures "Patriot" Missile Defense System

On the 7th, the Dutch Ministry of Defense announced that it had signed an agreement with Raytheon Technologies of the United States to purchase a “Patriot” missile defense system to enhance the country’s air defense capabilities. The Dutch Ministry of Defense stated in a release that the system to be purchased includes launch stations, control consoles, radars, as well as some accessories and logistical equipment. According to Dutch sources, the “Patriot” missile defense system can intercept helicopters, aircraft, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. Previously, the Netherlands had purchased four “Patriot” missile defense systems to assist NATO in responding to the threat from Russia. Among them, one is deployed within the Netherlands, two are deployed in Poland, and the fourth set purchased last year has not yet been delivered. (CCTV News)
