SLB’s Retina™ at-bit imaging system successfully imaged over 5,300 ft of a horizontal well in the Midland Basin, providing unprecedented geological insights. This technology embedded sensors in the drill bit to identify natural fractures and thin laminations, improving reservoir characterization and future well planning without affecting drilling performance. The system also delivered high-frequency shock and vibration data for operational optimization.
