France seeks to convene multiple countries to discuss the situation in the Strait of Hormuz
French Navy Chief of Staff Nicolas Vouzel said on the 1st that France is working to gather multiple countries “at the political level” to discuss how to reopen the Strait of Hormuz “in a sustainable manner.” On that day, at the “War and Peace” forum held in Paris, Vouzel said that, in addition to the political level, the action would also “oversee the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz on the military level.” French Ministry of Defense ministerial-level representative Alice Lufou said at the forum that NATO’s role does not apply to the use of force in the Strait of Hormuz.
