U.S. CFTC launches investigation into suspicious oil transactions prior to Trump's shift in Iran policy

Mars Finance News, April 16 — According to Bloomberg, the United States’ top derivatives regulator is investigating a series of “exceptionally precise timing” crude oil futures trades that occurred just before former President Trump’s recent policy adjustments regarding the Iran war. According to sources familiar with the matter, the investigation has been initiated. The CFTC is leading the probe into crude oil futures contract trades on the CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange platforms. The sources, who requested anonymity due to the confidential nature of the information, stated that both trading platforms have been asked to submit relevant trading data to regulators to assist the investigation.
