I recently realized that I am quite typical: with the same +5% and -5%, the unrealized loss makes me repeatedly check my phone in the middle of the night, while the unrealized gain I just ignore… Honestly, loss aversion is too real, my brain automatically amplifies "possibly losing more" into an alarm, even though rationally I know I haven't sold yet and it's just on paper.
The same applies in the group chat, too. When making profits, everyone says "steady," but when losing, they immediately start looking for narratives or scapegoats, especially recently with the staking/sharing safety yield stacking being criticized as "pyramid schemes." Any pullback instantly triggers emotional reactions. I now force myself to follow a checklist: keep my position smaller, write down my plan, and don't let the candles control my sleep—after all, humans are not machines.
