The U.S. seeks to expand its military presence in Greenland

According to The New York Times today (April 1), the U.S. military is accelerating efforts to expand its military presence in Greenland, a Danish autonomous territory — this indicates that President Trump’s strategic interest in Greenland has not diminished. According to U.S. senior general Gregory Gilot, in addition to the existing military base, the U.S. is negotiating with Denmark to gain access to three other bases in Greenland, including two bases that had previously been abandoned by the U.S. military. If the negotiations succeed, it will be the first time in decades that the U.S. has expanded its military presence in Greenland. (CCTV International News)
