Claude announced it will require real-name verification.
Anthropic updated its official Help Center yesterday and clearly began rolling out an identity verification mechanism.
When users enable Claude Max, frequently use high-capability features, or trigger security checks, there is a chance they will be required to upload government-issued physical documents (passport/driver’s license/ID card) + a real-time selfie, completed within 5 minutes.
If you do not verify, you cannot continue using the related features. The official reason is “to prevent abuse + ”.
