Israel and the United States conduct airstrikes on the U.S. Embassy area in Iran

According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency today (April 1), the U.S. and Israel carried out an airstrike on the area of Tehran, Iran’s capital, where the former U.S. embassy is located. It is understood that since the 1979 Iran hostage crisis at the U.S. embassy, the embassy building and other facilities have been controlled by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Basij militia, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, is responsible for operating the embassy compound and has established an anti-American museum inside the embassy.
