Lately, I've been feeling like the data on the chain is "lagging" whenever I check. At first, I thought my internet was bad, but then I realized it's probably the indexer/subgraph side holding things up. The chain doesn't give you data in real-time; many pages first ask the RPC, then wait for the subgraph to finish scanning events, store them, and output. And RPC still has rate limits, so when everyone is querying at once or a node acts up, it's like the weather suddenly blocks the wind. Now, there are also a bunch of AI agents automatically interacting on the chain, and the hype around storytelling is quite lively, but what I worry more about is: if they overload the requests, who takes the blame? Are the signatures/permissions scrutinized carefully? Anyway, whenever I see data delays, I just treat it as emotional fog—no need to jump to conclusions.
