News from Gate, April 15 — X (, formerly Twitter ), launched its Smart Cashtags feature on April 14, initially only available to iPhone users in the United States and Canada.
The tool allows users to add tags to specific stocks or crypto assets when posting or searching, displaying real-time prices and charts.
The feature aims to address confusion caused by the same or similar ticker symbols representing multiple assets, thereby improving discussion accuracy.
When entering ticker symbols or asset names, users can select the precise asset from a dropdown menu.
X product lead Nikita Bier said that X has long been a primary source of financial news for traders and investors, with billions of dollars allocated daily based on timeline content.
He described Cashtags as a first step toward becoming the preferred platform for the financial and crypto communities.
