Last night I did some research on IBC and various messaging and bridges. To put it simply, cross-chain isn't just "click a button"—there's a whole string of things you need to trust: the source chain/destination chain shouldn't cause trouble, the relay/validation in the middle shouldn't cheat, the light client/oracle setup shouldn't be bypassed, the contract implementation shouldn't be incomplete, and even the front end you click shouldn't change the address on you... I’ve been burned before by not understanding and forcing it, ending up stuck halfway. The funds weren’t lost, but it took two days to get back, and my mindset just cooled off. Now I prefer "if I don’t understand, I won’t move," better to earn less—profits are slow-cooked anyway. Recently, the inflation + studio + coin price spiral in blockchain games also looks quite similar. The mechanism is too complex, trust chains are too long, and it’s easy for things to go wrong. Better to sleep on it first.
