Reporters learned on April 1st from Hainan Power Grid Corporation that in the first quarter of this year, the charging volume of new energy vehicles in Hainan exceeded 700 million kWh, a year-on-year increase of nearly 40%. The charging and swapping network continues to operate at a high level, becoming an important guarantee for green travel in tourism, consumption, and transportation. Since the Hainan Free Trade Port launched the full island closure operation, the new trend of green travel in Hainan has continued to surge under the combined effects of the Spring Festival cultural tourism consumption boom, rising oil prices, and accelerated layout of the new energy heavy-duty truck industry, injecting green momentum into the high-quality development of the Hainan Free Trade Port after closure. According to statistics from the Hainan charging and swapping “One Network” platform, in the first quarter of this year, the total number of charging sessions at the province’s new energy vehicle charging stations exceeded 12 million, with an average of over 120k per day. Meanwhile, the electrification transformation in the logistics and transportation sector is also accelerating. Currently, Hainan has built and put into operation 13 heavy-duty truck charging and swapping stations in Haikou, Chengmai, Danzhou, and other cities and counties, with a total installed capacity of about 35k kW. The stations built around key ports serve nearly 43% of container trailers in Hainan Province. The electricization rate of heavy-duty trucks in Hainan has risen to 36.1%. By 2025, the charging and swapping volume of heavy-duty trucks in Hainan is expected to increase by more than 10 times year-on-year, with the energy replenishment demand of new energy heavy-duty trucks becoming an important part of the growth in charging volume. As of now, the user registration volume of the Hainan charging and swapping “One Network” platform has exceeded 300k, with a total of 5,855 charging stations and 95 swapping stations connected, approximately 73k charging guns accessed, achieving 100% connection of public charging piles in Hainan Province, and basically realizing the goal of “one app for smooth travel across the province.” ( Xinhua News Agency )
