The National Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence Center issues an OpenClaw security risk alert

The National Cybersecurity and Information Security Information Reporting Center’s monitoring data shows that currently, there are over 200k active OpenClaw internet assets worldwide, with approximately 23k active OpenClaw internet assets domestically. This indicates a rapid growth trend, mainly concentrated in internet resource-dense areas such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Sichuan, and Jiangsu. A large number of OpenClaw assets exposed to the internet pose significant security risks and are highly likely to become key targets for cyberattacks. Among them, autonomous agent behavior is uncontrollable, making management difficult. OpenClaw autonomous agents are prone to permission loss during command execution, leading to unauthorized task execution and ignoring user instructions. This may result in deleting user data, stealing user information, taking over user terminal devices, and other issues, causing substantial economic losses.
