From March 18 to 19, the 71st meeting of the APEC Energy Working Group was successfully held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. This meeting was the first institutional, mechanism-based energy-sector meeting held during China’s third time as APEC host. Closely centered on the theme of APEC China 2026—“Building an Asia-Pacific community of shared future, and promoting common prosperity”—it proposed the energy theme of “Building an Asia-Pacific energy community that is inclusive, innovative, and collaborative.” Representatives from the economies then held in-depth discussions around three priority areas: “universal high-quality energy services,” “artificial intelligence + energy,” and “collaborative governance of Asia-Pacific energy,” focusing on the implementation results of existing initiatives and the design of outcomes for APEC China 2026. They exchanged views candidly, laying the groundwork for reaching consensus and achieving results in the energy field for APEC China 2026. (National Energy Administration)
