Data released by the Federal Motor Transport Authority of Germany on April 7th shows that in March this year, the registration of pure electric vehicles in Germany reached 70,663 units, a significant year-on-year increase of 66.2%, becoming the main driver of growth in the automotive market. Meanwhile, sales of traditional fuel vehicles remain under pressure, with gasoline car registrations in Germany in March totaling 66,959 units, a year-on-year decline of 4.9%. Diesel car registrations decreased slightly by 0.6% year-on-year. In March, the registration of pure electric vehicles in Germany surpassed that of gasoline cars. Analysts point out that this change is related to recent tensions in the Middle East pushing up international energy prices, as well as the German government’s support policies for new energy vehicles.
