The greatest sorrow in life is:

Discovering that your relatives and loved ones are fools, but you cannot change that.

We can live with someone who looks average, live with someone with an ordinary income, live with someone whose emotions sometimes fluctuate.

But it’s very difficult to live long-term with someone who continuously misunderstands reality, makes wrong decisions repeatedly, and refuses to correct themselves.

Because appearance influences desire, income influences resources, emotions influence the atmosphere;

But the quality of cognition influences everything—how we understand problems, how we make decisions, how we judge risks, how we educate children, how we handle conflicts, how we plan for the future, how we understand each other.

This is not the arrogance of “smart people looking down on ordinary people.”

It is a systemic fact: in long-term cohabitation, one person’s cognitive flaws can become another person’s real cost.
