At today’s (8th) policy briefing held by the Ministry of Emergency Management and the National Fire and Rescue Agency, a relevant person in charge of the National Fire and Rescue Agency introduced that the General Office of the State Council recently issued the “Opinions on Further Strengthening Grassroots Firefighting Work,” which clearly requires fire departments to lawfully conduct fire accident investigations and handling, improve four fire accident investigation mechanisms, and promote the transformation of fire safety governance from reactive to proactive. First, for general fires, “emphasis on rectification.” Second, improve and perfect the review system for large fire fatalities. Third, for major fires, “supervised notification + elevated investigation.” Fourth, clarify “duty exemption.” (CCTV News)
