Just read this wild story about John McAfee's wife Janice Dyson and honestly can't stop thinking about it. So this guy creates one of the biggest antivirus companies in the 80s, sells it to Intel for 7.7 billion, but then his life becomes this absolute chaos spiral. He ends up in Belize, then on the run, facing tax evasion charges - the whole thing reads like a thriller.
What gets me is Janice's part in all this. They met in Miami Beach in 2012 when she was working as a prostitute, and despite being 36 years apart in age, they got married and basically went on the run together. Like, she was in her mid-30s dealing with a guy in his 70s who's constantly evading authorities. That age gap plus the intensity of their situation - can't imagine what that was like.
But here's where it gets really dark. McAfee dies in a Spanish prison in 2021, officially ruled suicide. Except Janice completely disputes this. She's been fighting the Spanish system for years, pushing for independent autopsies, maintaining he was in good spirits the day he died. She even kept his Twitter active, posting about his fears of being targeted.
The conspiracy theories are everywhere now - people comparing it to Epstein, talking about hidden cryptographic keys in images he posted, the whole thing. Whether any of it's real, who knows. But Janice's been out here for years defending his memory, dealing with the fallout of his legacy. Pretty intense story about loyalty and mystery mixed together.
