Wu Shuo learned that Colossus published a feature article about Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan, revealing many previously undisclosed details. Jeff’s parents are both Chinese immigrants. They divorced when he was in third grade, and his mother raised Jeff and his younger sister. Jeff’s mother is an accountant, and every tax season she has to work overtime. The saying she likes to quote most is: There is always someone beyond people, and there is always a sky beyond the sky. In ninth grade, Jeff attended a training camp for the U.S. Mathematical Olympiad, but he didn’t make the national team. He found some physics textbooks used by older students and discovered Feynman’s lecture notes, which he finished watching as if binge-watching a series. Subsequently, Jeff won a gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad, earning a full scholarship to Harvard.
