U.S. assessment: Iran still possesses thousands of ballistic missiles that can be launched from underground facilities


On April 11, according to the Wall Street Journal citing officials familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments, Iran's arsenal still contains thousands of ballistic missiles, and they can be launched by retrieving launchers from underground storage. Some U.S. officials express concern that Iran may use the ceasefire period to reorganize part of its missile stockpile. The intelligence report depicts a picture showing that Iran still has the capability to reorganize some of its missile forces. U.S. officials state that although more than half of Iran's missile launchers have been destroyed, damaged, or trapped underground, a significant portion of the remaining launchers can still be repaired or excavated from underground facilities.
