U.S. Vice President Harris: The war will end soon
Ask AI · What strategic considerations does Vance have in choosing to announce the news in Hungary?

On July 7 local time, U.S. Vice President Vance visited Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and held a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán.
Vance said that the United States and Iran have already achieved their military objectives in the Iran war, and the war will end soon, with corresponding negotiations to follow. He said that for Iran, “one option is to act like a normal country, and the other option is to further undermine regional stability.”
Vance said that Trump asked his team to guide all parties to reach an agreement, but the question is how to put the agreement into practice. He said the United States is “confident” that it will receive a response before 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the 7th (8:00 a.m. Beijing time the next day).
Orbán: The EU’s support for Ukraine’s strategy has failed
Regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Orbán said that the EU’s support for Ukraine’s strategy has failed. He said the EU is waging an economic war against a country with unlimited energy and raw materials, while he himself has neither energy nor raw materials—calling it, in itself, an absurd idea. With the Strait of Hormuz blocked, Russia’s energy and raw materials correspondingly increased in value, placing Russia in an unprecedentedly favorable position.
Vance said that the Russia-Ukraine conflict must come to an end, which requires diplomatic means, and that the U.S. has asked both sides to work toward finding a solution. (CCTV reporter Bu Weijun)
