Techub News reports that, according to CoinDesk, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that it is opening its previously exclusive cybersecurity threat information sharing service, which was only available to traditional financial institutions, to crypto companies. Qualified cryptocurrency companies and organizations (whose eligibility has not yet been clearly defined in the announcement) can register to use the same service as traditional financial institutions. The Treasury Department’s Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection will provide them with "timely, actionable cybersecurity information," and encourages interested companies to contact the office to see if they are interested in this free service.
This move responds to earlier recommendations from the President’s Digital Asset Market Working Group. The group released a report last year that included several information sharing suggestions regarding cybersecurity attack risks.
