Promoting cross-province instant access, the national medical insurance imaging index has uploaded 349 million entries.

The reporter learned from the National Healthcare Security Administration that, for a long time, “excessive testing, expensive testing, and repeated testing” have been the “pain points” and “blockages” strongly reflected by the public. To address the urgent and difficult concerns of the people and to enable cross-province instant access to medical imaging examination data for healthcare payments, since 2024, the National Healthcare Security Administration has promoted the construction of a healthcare imaging cloud, issued unified standards for healthcare imaging data indexing and coding, and guided various regions to upload healthcare imaging indexes step by step to the national healthcare information platform. As of March 12, 2026, all 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have uploaded at least one healthcare imaging index within their province, with a total of 349 million imaging indexes uploaded, laying a solid data foundation for nationwide cross-province instant access to healthcare imaging cloud data.
