I just reread Caroline Ellison's story, and honestly, it's still surreal. This girl was the CEO of Alameda Research, Sam Bankman-Fried's fund, and now she’s serving two years in prison for the financial chaos that exploded in 2022. The interesting part is that Caroline Ellison cooperated with prosecutors and testified against the FTX founder during the trial, which probably helped her avoid an even harsher sentence.

What stands out the most is the media attention she received. Caroline Ellison was literally chased by the press, criticized on social media, memes everywhere. Even the government took note of how much stalking she endured. And considering she had a personal relationship with the boss, imagine the psychological pressure.

But she’s not alone in this story. Nishad Singh, Gary Wang, Ryan Salame — practically the entire leadership of FTX and Alameda had to face sentencing. It’s as if the entire ecosystem of that project has collapsed, and everyone is paying the price. Caroline Ellison will serve her time in a low-security facility, but still, two years is no joke.

The crypto community continues to watch how all this unfolds. It’s a tough lesson on what happens when things go wrong on a grand scale.
