When my monthly salary reaches 10,000, a question makes me doubt life.

Having 5 million in the bank earns an interest of 150k a year, which is more than I earn.
I can only work for 40 years, but 5 million can continuously earn interest forever.
Twenty years of hard study, decades of hard work—do they really outweigh 5 million?
If so, isn't that a bit sad? If not, where is my greater value?
