Last week, Brazil soybean CNF premium and discount quotes declined slightly.
Last week, Brazil soybean export CIF (cost and freight) quotes fell slightly, and my country’s import costs decreased. On April 3, my country’s import CIF quotes for Brazil soybeans with May and June shipment dates were $476 per metric ton and $483 per metric ton, respectively, down $6–7 per metric ton from the same period last week. When converted into the tariff-paid delivered cost at ports in South China, they were 3,784 yuan per metric ton and 3,838 yuan per metric ton, down 58–66 yuan per metric ton from the same period last week. Last week, CBOT soybean futures prices moved within a range. The weekly chart ended slightly higher, and combined with optimistic prospects for a bumper crop of Brazil soybeans and an expected increase in the U.S. newly planted acreage, Brazil soybean CIF basis/premium quotes edged down slightly. On April 3, the export basis/premium CIF quotes from Brazil soybeans to my country for May and June 2026 shipment dates were 135 cents per bushel and 137 cents per bushel, respectively, down 8–9 cents per bushel month-over-month.
