The second phase of the Zhejiang San'ao Nuclear Power Project's drainage tunnel construction has entered the main excavation stage.
On the 31st, a reporter learned from China Railway 16th Bureau Group that with the successful launch of the “Canghe No. 1” tunnel boring machine, the Yangtze River Delta’s first “Hualong One” nuclear power project—the China National Nuclear Power’s Phase II drainage tunnel project of the Cangnan Nuclear Power Project in Zhejiang, San’ao—has officially entered the main excavation stage. The San’ao Nuclear Power Project in Zhejiang is located in Xiaguan Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou, and is a national key energy project, as well as the first nuclear power project in the country with private capital participating. The project plans to construct six “Hualong One” nuclear power generating units, with a total investment of 120 billion yuan, to be built in three phases. Among them, the Phase II drainage tunnel project is a key ancillary project for the two units in Phase II. It mainly involves facilities such as siphon wells and shield tunneling tunnels. After completion, it will undertake the safe transportation of circulating cooling water for the nuclear power plant and the task of natural heat exchange, providing a solid guarantee for the safe and stable operation of the nuclear power generating units.
