President Trump posted on Truth Social that, based on communications with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir, and on the premise that Iran agrees to immediately, comprehensively, and safely open the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. has agreed to suspend bombing and military strikes against Iran for two weeks. Trump described this as a "bilateral ceasefire" and stated that the U.S. has largely achieved its military objectives and is close to reaching a long-term peace agreement with Iran.
