After Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif proposed the “two-week plan” to pause the U.S.-Iran situation, insiders said that good news is expected to be announced soon by both the U.S. and Iran, with a final agreement expected to be reached before Tuesday evening (the 7th) local time.

In an interview with the media, U.S. President Trump said that the U.S. is currently conducting intense negotiations regarding a war with Iran, but did not disclose more details. He also said he is about to receive a full briefing on the “two-week ceasefire” proposal put forward by Pakistan’s prime minister. U.S. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt earlier told the media that Trump has already received the latest proposal from Pakistan regarding the current situation and will respond.

Sharif earlier posted on social media, saying, “Diplomatic efforts aimed at peacefully ending the current fighting in the Middle East are being steadily and powerfully advanced, and real success is expected to be achieved in the near term.” To leave room for the diplomatic process, he asked Trump to postpone the “final deadline” for negotiations with Iran by two weeks, while also asking the “Iranian brothers” to open the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks as a show of goodwill.

A senior Iranian official told other media that Tehran is actively considering Pakistan’s “two-week ceasefire” request.
