International passenger train from China to North Korea arrives in Pyongyang

Local time on the 12th evening, an international passenger train running from Dandong Station in China to Pyongyang Station in North Korea arrived at Pyongyang Station. Wang Yajun, the Chinese ambassador to North Korea, and some diplomats from the embassy, as well as Kim Yong-ho, director of the North Korean Railway Ministry’s external affairs bureau, met the passengers who were taking this train to North Korea on the platform. Wang Yajun extended a warm welcome to the passengers traveling to North Korea on this train. He said that the bidirectional operation of the China–North Korea international passenger train in both directions is a joyous event that both peoples of the two countries have long looked forward to, and it is also a major event in the development of relations between the two countries. After getting off the train, a young woman passenger told reporters that the trip was very smooth, the experience was excellent, and she hopes to take the China–North Korea international passenger train again in the future. Another elderly female passenger said that the train runs steadily and comfortably, and will provide more convenience for travel between the two countries for passengers from China and North Korea. According to a message from China’s National Railway Group Co., Ltd., starting March 12, 2026, international passenger trains will operate bidirectionally between Beijing and Dandong in China and Pyongyang in North Korea, further promoting people-to-people exchanges, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and North Korea. International passenger trains between Beijing and Pyongyang will operate bidirectionally every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and international passenger trains between Dandong and Pyongyang will operate bidirectionally every day.
