People’s Finance News, April 7—The Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the “Several Measures of Guangdong Province to Support the Development of Individual Businesses.” Among other points, it calls for encouraging insurance companies to design tailored insurance plans for individual businesses with different business operation characteristics, and to provide tailored insurance products for specific types such as catering and lodging, and small microenterprises. It also seeks to drive insurance companies to launch commercial insurance products that fit the new forms of employment in the platform economy, to strengthen protections for rights and interests such as personal accidental injury. It encourages innovative and flexible premium payment services, explores simplified claims assessment and settlement models, promotes online insurance claims and policy inquiry services, and meets the insurance service needs of individual businesses that are temporary, sudden, and high-frequency.
