During this year's Qingming holiday, Hainan's offshore duty-free shopping amount increased by 14.8% year-on-year.
During the 2026 Qingming holiday (April 4–6), Hainan’s duty-free shopping for travelers leaving the island had total spending, number of people, and number of items of 279M yuan, 47.6 thousand person-times, and 224.2 thousand items, respectively, which increased by 14.8%, 19.6%, and 10.1% compared with the same holiday last year. The appeal of Hainan’s duty-free policy for travelers leaving the island continues to grow. (CCTV News)
