With less than half a day to go until the U.S. President Trump-set deadline for negotiations with Iran, the U.S. and Israel stepped up airstrikes against Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Tuesday that Israeli forces struck multiple Iranian railways and bridges.

Earlier, the Israeli military issued a statement saying that Israeli forces had carried out several rounds of large-scale airstrikes targeting multiple locations inside Iran. It is claimed that the operation was intended to hit infrastructure within Iran.

According to Iranian media reports, multiple explosions were heard on Tuesday at Khark Island, which accounts for 90% of Iran’s oil exports. Multiple international media outlets confirmed that U.S. forces struck more than 50 military targets on the island, including radar stations and ammunition depots, but the attacks did not affect oil infrastructure.

Reports say that a highway bridge in northwestern Iran was destroyed by U.S. and Israeli troops. Footage released by the Iranian Red Crescent shows that railway facilities were damaged; rescue workers carried injured people out. In the north as well, power transmission facilities were bombed, and some areas lost electricity.
