Play First, Pay Later: Google announces that Google Play Games will support free trials for paid games
IT Home reported on March 12 that Google announced on March 11 local time that it is rolling out the Game Trials feature in Google Play Games. Users can try the full version of paid games for free. If they decide to buy, their progress will be automatically saved, and they can continue playing directly from their earlier save.
The Game Trials feature will first launch in select mobile paid games, and then expand to the PC version of Google Play Games.
At the same time, Google also launched a new mode called “Buy once, play anywhere.” In certain paid games, players only need to purchase once to play the same game on both mobile phones and PCs.
Meanwhile, Google is rolling out a Community Posts feature for dozens of popular games. This feature provides a player discussion space in Google Play, where players can share tips and exchange gameplay. Currently, the Community Posts feature supports only English, and will be expanded to more languages and more games in the future.
Google also introduced the Sidekick (game assistant) feature. According to IT Home, in some paid games downloaded through Google Play, players can use this feature. The game assistant runs as an in-game overlay interface. It can organize relevant game information and provide AI-generated gameplay tips to help players get real-time recommendations during gameplay.
In addition, Google will further expand the game catalog on Google Play, and more paid games will launch over the coming months.
