After Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank appointed new leadership, net profit continued to decline for 3 consecutive years; after non-performing loan ratio rose for 4 consecutive years, it fell for the first time

China Economic Network, Beijing, April 7—Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank (09889.HK) recently released its 2025 annual performance announcement. In 2025, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank recorded operating income of 11.7B yuan, down 5.00% year over year; net profit of 3.88B yuan, down 20.24% year over year; and net profit attributable to shareholders of the bank of 3.85B yuan, down 16.67% year over year.

Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank appointed a new leadership team in 2023. In April 2023, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank issued an announcement stating that Wang Yaoqiu submitted his resignation letter, resigning from positions including chairman. In May of the same year, the board of directors resolved to appoint Lu Guofeng as chairman, and on December 27 his qualification for the position was approved.

After the leadership change, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank’s net profit has declined for three consecutive years.

In 2023, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank recorded operating income of 13.26B yuan, up 0.18% year over year; net profit of 5.35B yuan, down 12.11% year over year; and net profit attributable to shareholders of the bank of 5.16B yuan, down 12.99% year over year.

In 2024, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank recorded operating income of 12.31B yuan, down 7.15% year over year; net profit of 4.86B yuan, down 9.08% year over year; and net profit attributable to shareholders of the bank of 4.63B yuan, down 10.40% year over year.

As of December 31, 2025, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank’s non-performing loan ratio was 1.79%, down 0.05 percentage points from the end of the previous year.

Previously, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank’s non-performing loan ratio had risen for four consecutive years. At the end of 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank’s non-performing loan ratio was 0.82%, 0.84%, 0.90%, 1.23%, and 1.84%, respectively.
