Iranian Foreign Ministry states it will make the U.S. and Israel pay a "painful price"

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on February 28, urging the United Nations to take action in response to the military strikes on Iran by the United States and Israel. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that it would make the U.S. and Israel “pay a heavy price.”

The statement said that while Iran and the U.S. were engaged in diplomatic dialogue, the U.S. and Israel attacked multiple targets in several Iranian cities, as well as multiple defense and civilian facilities, openly violating Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty—“now is the time to defend our homeland and counter enemy aggression.”

The statement emphasized that the U.S.-Israel military action violated provisions of the United Nations Charter, and that Iran has the right to respond. Iran’s armed forces will use all forces and resources to repel the enemy.

The statement said that this military action is “a harbinger of threats to regional and global peace and security,” and that the United Nations should take action as soon as possible to address the “military aggression” by the United States and Israel toward Iran.

In conclusion, the statement said: “History has proven that Iran has never submitted to foreign aggression, and this response will also be resolute and firm, ensuring that the aggressors pay a heavy price for their crimes.” (Xinhua News Agency)
