.@BitGo just launched BitGo Mint on April 2nd. USD1 is one of two assets supported at launch.
This is the institutional adoption kickoff for #USD1, imo.
For those who don't know:
- BitGo already custodies the reserves backing USD1 and runs the real-time Proof of Reserves dashboard.
- Mint is the natural next step, same infrastructure, now extended to minting and redemption.
USD1 is at $4.41B mcap. With BitGo Mint removing the operational friction for institutions, I'm curious to see where that number goes in the coming months.
