3413 meters: Our country's polar ice sheet drilling breaks the world's deepest hot water drilling record

People’s Finance and News, April 7—On April 7, a reporter learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that China’s 42nd Antarctic expedition successfully completed our country’s first Antarctic ice-sheet hot-water drilling test. The drilling reached a depth of 3,413 meters, breaking the international deepest record for polar hot-water drilling of 2,540 meters. (Xinhua)
