I just remembered the legendary story of Laszlo Hanyecz — this guy wrote one of the most valuable lessons in cryptocurrency history.
On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz decided to do something that seemed very ordinary: he sent 10,000 BTC in exchange for two large pizzas. At that time, the amount was worth about $41. Everyone laughed, but he didn’t care — he just wanted to see if Bitcoin could actually be used to buy something in the real world.
And now, just imagine. If Laszlo Hanyecz had held onto those 10,000 BTC until today, with the current price around $69.86K, that amount would be worth nearly $700 million. Over $700 million just to buy pizza. Crazy, right?
But what I find interesting here is: Laszlo Hanyecz wasn’t greedy. He just wanted to prove that Bitcoin could be used, exchanged, and become a real form of currency. And he achieved that.
Today, Pizza (Pizza Day) has become a community-wide milestone in the crypto world. It reminds us that even the smallest first steps can change an entire world. Laszlo Hanyecz taught us that innovation isn’t always about holding and waiting — sometimes it’s about using, sharing, and trusting a new technology.
I have a question for you: if you had 10,000 BTC today, what would you do? Hold it until it hits $1 billion? Or use it to do something meaningful?
